Wildlife

There are over 140 endangered species in Homolje. Among these is the Europe’s third-largest predator: the highly endangered Eurasian Lynx.

Homolje is home to a beautiful Large Blue butterfly (IUCN Red List of Threatened Species) and a diverse range of other remarkable species. It serves as the habitat for the delicate Beautiful Demoiselle, the Majestic Golden Eagle, the Grey Wolf, Brown Bear, and many other fascinating creatures.

The pristine waters of the rivers Tisnica, Crna Reka, and Mlava hold a hidden treasure of biodiversity. Among their depths, one can find the Stone Crayfish, playful River Otter and numerous species of fish that thrive in the diverse aquatic ecosystems.
